I have also seen a few portable files where the downloaded file is the program. I put them into my Program Files folder and put a shortcut on the desktop. I have no need to keep the exe files. I purchased QB Pro desktop: downloaded, installed, and am happily using the program. In my Downloads folder is a large file QuickBooksProexe. Can I delete that file? There appear to be a number of other executable files in the Program Files folder. The target of the shortcut on my desktop also points to the Program Files.

Open Edge and click the triple-dot button in in the upper-right. Scroll down to the bottom of the right-hand panel and click Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of Settings and click View Advanced.
